Student council put up a poster in lunch room displaying the Homecomeing week spirit days

Homecoming is just around the corner here at Lake Ridge and that means spirit days are coming up!

Spirit dress up days are one of the ways students at Lake Ridge show their support to our school and our sports teams.

So what do spirit days mean to the students here at Lake Ridge? “I dress up because it’s fun.  It is a great way the school allows us to show our spirit,” Alicia Broom, junior, said.

The fun is definitely a part of spirit days. When students can be seen dressed up in their tacky clothes or their red and white, it allows the students get to be involved in  school activities. “I don’t play any sports and I’m not in any clubs, but it is cool that I can be a part of the school in some way,” Broom said.
Some students get extra credit in some of their classes for dressing up for spirit days. “Sometimes, we can get ten extra points on our next quiz or we don’t have to work one daily work,” Haley Bengry, junior, said.

Here are the upcoming spirit days for Homecoming week:

Tuesday: wear your Texas team jerseys for TX Sports Day

Wednesday: make sure you bring you aloha shirts and fanny packs for Tacky Day

Thursday: Lake Ridge will proudly be wearing the colors of our flag for Red, White, and Better than Midlo Day

Friday: wear the Homecoming shirts you bought from student council, and head on down to the game!
