Honoring locally elected advocates of public education, Lake Ridge High School, the Mansfield ISD and other districts throughout Texas are celebrating School Board Recognition Month in January.

Mansfield board members oversee an annual budget of $311.2 million for more than 33,800 students, approximately 4,000 employees, and 43 schools, according to the MISD.

“They have a true passion for the children of Mansfield ISD, and the decisions they make reflect that passion,” said superintendent Dr. Jim Vaszauskas in a press release. “On behalf of the district, I want to say ‘thank you’ to the school board for the countless hours they put in as volunteers to make sure MISD remains one of the top school districts in the state of Texas.”
