Baylor Orthopedic & Spine Hospital of Arlington has stepped in and donated the $1.8 million to cover the MISD portion of the Dr. Pepper Center deal.  The Mansfield City Council voted unanimously Monday night to reopen talks with the Dallas Stars to build the Dr. Pepper StarCenter at Highway 287 and Broad St.

Mansfield Mayor, David Cook, had tabled the deal last month when MISD taxpayers voiced their concerns over funding coming from the school district for use of the facility.

The City Council said they would work towards finalizing the deal with the City, The Stars, MISD, and Baylor Orthopedic.
