Halloween Band Style

On Saturday, Oct. 29, the members of the Eagles Marching Band gathered for their 4th Annual Trunk or Treating and band party.

In the past, Halloween has fallen on days that the band has either had performances or competitions. The Eagle band parents created a way for the band members to be able to perform and still enjoy the Halloween festivities.

Parents lined the parking lot at LRHS with their decorated vehicles and passed out candy to the band members who were dressed up in costumes.

“The families really put a lot of effort into decorating their cars and the kids always enjoy getting candy, no matter how old they are,” explained Band Boosters President, Laura Miller. “We consider our band a family. Events like these where all family members are invited only help make our band closer, thus making our band stronger.”

Other festivities during the evening included pizza, line dancing, and the annual “wrapping-the-drum majors in toilet paper” competition.

The LRHS Marching Band concluded their award winning season by performing their program, “The Machine”, for the final time last Friday during the halftime show of the Lake Ridge-Timberview football game.
