Mrs. Brackett Revisits Lake Ridge
On Oct. 14 Mrs. Rachel Brackett surprised the ENN Broadcast and Newspaper Staff by jumping out of the supply closet in the journalism room. She was immediately engulfed by hugs from her former students.
“I was excited and shocked to see her,” said sophomore Trieu Tran.
Junior Rebecca Vincent agrees.
“I was so excited, because I didn’t expect her to be back for a while.”
Mrs. Brackett moved to Cleveland Texas, where her husband, Coach Matt Brackett, got a head coaching job. She is enjoying taking a year off from teaching, while looking after her two kids.
“I have been fortunate enough to be able to stay at home with my kids this year, but I look forward to getting back in the classroom,” Brackett explained.
After coming back to Mansfield for her daughter’s first birthday, Brackett decided to pay a visit to Lake Ridge.
“I love coming back and seeing the students,” said Mrs. Brackett. “It’s surreal. It doesn’t feel like it’s been that long and at the same time it feels as though it’s been forever.”
Mrs. Brackett still keeps up with ENN and is very proud of everything we have done.
“I am immensely proud of how far ENN has come and I think Coach Sohel has done an incredible job growing the program and I could not be happier with the progress,” said Brackett.
