The Bet Gets Paid!
War is over! The “Civil War” between Lake Ridge Journalism teacher John Sohel, and Timberview Assistant Principal, Andrew Marsh ended Friday night as Timberview defeated Lake Ridge 35-7 in football.
Now the time has come for Sohel to pay up on the bet he made with Marsh and dress as a Timberview cheerleader. Although Sohel is a little upset about losing, he did manage to find the bright side of the situation.
“It’s probably better that I had to wear a skirt because my legs are much better looking than Coach Marsh’s,” Sohel said.
While proud of Timberview’s win, Marsh isn’t as happy as he thought he’d be.
“I’m happy to win, but after seeing Sohel dressed as a cheerleader, I can’t say I feel too much like a winner,” said Marsh.
The two friends plan on creating more bets in the future between Lake Ridge and Timberview throughout the remainder of the school year.
“It feels good to come ahead in this contest, but mark my words, there will be other battles,” Marsh said.
“This isn’t over. I will not rest until I see Marsh dressed as a cheerleader…wait, that sounded weird,” said Sohel.
Lake Ridge is scheduled to play Timberview in basketball on January 17 of 2017. Until then, Sohel will be waiting on uniform alterations.
