Eagles Football: The Waxahachie Indians
After a 60-34 thumping of Waxahachie Thursday night your Lake Ridge Eagles varsity football team is now 5-0. The team put up a season high 60 points, and dominated a good Waxahachie team. Jett Duffey had four total touchdowns on the night two rushing and two passing. Duke Carter had three total touchdowns two rushing, and one receiving. Jabari Ford also had a receiving touchdown. The defense continues to wreak havoc on opposing offenses as they forced 2 turnovers and scored on both of them. Bryson Jackson had a fumble recovery for a touchdown, and Tyshawn Suddoth had an interception returned for a touchdown. The Eagles are going into the bye week 5-0, and 2-0 in district play with district wins over Lancaster, and Waxahachie the team is in a great position entering the second half of the season Head Coach Kirk Thor said “I’m thankful for the bye week because we need to rest and recover. It’s good to be 2-0 in district going into the bye.” The Eagles keep the number one ranking in 5A for the DFW metroplex, they’re still number fifteen in all of Texas, and number seventy-five in all of America. The Eagles will play crosstown rival Timberview October 9th at Newsom Stadium, trying to avenge a 56-14 loss to Timberview last season.
