Soccer Set to Kick Off Season
The Lake Ridge Eagles soccer teams are heading into the 2016 season with high hopes and expectations. The Varsity and JV teams finished the 2015 season with winning records and look to build on their past success.
“I think we have pretty high expectations this year because of how good we did last year,” explained Varsity player, Bryce Virostek. “Even though we lost a few people, and have new people on the team. I think we should have a great season and win districts again this year.”
As returning district champions, the Varsity girls/boys teams look to advance further into the playoff rounds. The boys Varsity team was eliminated in the second round of the playoffs while the girls fought their way to the fourth round. The boys JV team went undefeated throughout the season and JV girls finished their season with a record of 13- 1.
Lake Ridge’s soccer program, headed by Coach Ellof and Coach Wallace, continues to improve with each year. The 2016 Varsity soccer season kicks off it’s home opener on Tuesday, January 12th at Lake Ridge against Ennis High School.
