Eagles Basketball Area Champions
The Lake Ridge Eagles Varsity Basketball team defeated the John Tyler Lions at Forney High School on Friday, Feb. 26, by a score of 84-63.
With the win, the Eagles are now Area champions and will advance to the 3rd round of the UIL State Playoffs and will face Lancaster High School.
The Eagles continued their aggressive and fast pace play against the much smaller John Tyler, showing that they are tougher than everyone expected.
The Eagles had a huge size advantage compared to a team who’s tallest player was 6’3. Even with the size advantage, though, the Eagles continued to do what they’ve done best this post season, make perimeter jumpers.
Next up for the LR Varsity Basketball team is an all too familiar face, Lancaster High School.
Lancaster, who is in the same district alignment as the Eagles, won both contests against the Eagles during the regular season.
The Eagles take on the Lancaster Tigers at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday, March 1, at Duncanville High School for round 3 of the playoffs.
