Lake Ridge Boys Soccer Area Champs
Lake Ridge boys soccer beat Tyler John Tyler 1-0 Friday April 1, 2016. The boys advance to play the reigning state champion the Lufkin Panthers Tuesday April 5, 2016 in Longview. Lufkin enters the game after a close win against the Waxahachie Indians.
This team seems to be flying through the playoffs. Head Coach Cory Elolf said, “I think we have had a couple of solid showings so far. At this point it is survive and advance.”
The Eagles face their next big challenge taking on the defending state champions.
Coach Elolf explained, “Anytime you play the defending state champs you know you are going to have a very tough opponent. They are a great team.”
Lufkin is the reigning state champion, but every year Lake Ridge has gotten better and better, and this team has the potential to be a real state contender.
“We will have to play are very best and have a little luck for our team to have a chance against them,” Elolf said.
