Baseball Battling Back
Baseball season is in full swing! The Eagles have officially started what will be a wonderful season to watch, but according to Justin Kahl, they have to stay focused.
“We’ve got the talent,” Kahl, a JV player said, “we just have to start playing mentally tough.”
The season hasn’t started as expected for the Eagles, as their record stands at 8-16 so far on the year. Even if the season hasn’t worked out as planned, though, Kahl says the expectations for the program as a whole remains the same. “Play to win and give 110% and things will likely be in our favor.”
The season isn’t lost yet though, as the players remain hopeful that all will eventually work out.
“This team is very young and has little experience at the Varsity level,” RJ Roberts, a Varsity player said, “but we’ve been playing very well recently and we are on the come up!”
Roberts also says the team goal remains the same, to win district and eventually a state championship.
How will they get there, though? “One step at a time,” Justin Kahl says.
The Eagles have just recently won 2 out of 3 defeating Lancaster and Timberview, only dropping one to Seguin.
Next up for the Eagles is the Waxahachie Indians on Friday, April 22nd, in Waxahachie at 7 P.M.. Good luck Eagles!
