Golf Swings Into A New Season
The Lake Ridge Golf Team is getting ready for a new season. After competing in their first tournament, the team is doing many things to be prepared for a triumphant season.
“We work on putting and short game drills. I think my strength is my driving but I want to get better at putting and chipping,” said Freshman Nolan Barham.
Returning for his sophomore year, Michael Strout has been interested in golf since he was a kid. Having the chance to be on his high school team, he puts as much effort as he can so he doesn’t let his team down.
“I hope to shoot low scores and help out the team,” Strout said.
As the season gets closer, the golf team practices on improving their physical and mental aspect of the game, as well as their sense of team. Nathan Seglar is excited for his last year of golf at Lake Ridge. He and his team put in a lot of work and keep trying to get better.
“I’d like to go all out this season and hopefully get a scholarship to college. I put a lot of effort in this and play my game,” Seglar said.
Golf coach, Scott Christensen tries his best to get his players on the course and getting that repetition of playing 18 holes of golf. He is excited and ready for the new season.
“Although we have a lot of new players in the program, there are not many expectations, we just want to have fun and enjoy the season,” said Coach Christensen.
