Lights! Camera! Expo!
The DFW Photo Expo was held Nov. 14-15 at the Arlington Convention Center.
The most comprehensive photography trade show in the DFW area, the fifth annual event included seminars from leading industry speakers on topics such as macro photography, light and shadow, LED lighting and world travel.
Those in attendance were introduced to the latest in photography technology from more than 50 vendors such as Canon, Nikon, Sony, and Macintosh.
The expo included an exhibit from the Texas School of Professional Photography (TSPP) which is dedicated to furthering the education of professional photographers through more than 36 class offerings for current TPPA members in the Dallas area.
“The trade show is biggest event of the year,” said TSPP Director Don Dicksen. “It is a great way to reach the leaders in the industry.”
The two-day event featured a photographic playground where shutter bugs could learn modeling and lighting secrets while using personal equipment to shoot models in various settings.
Also on display was a booth dedicated to the top female photographers from the Metroplex.
A “Photo Chicks” exhibit featured equipment and accessories all designed by women — who make up more than half of the Professional Photographers Association, according Angela Porter, owner of Dixie Chicks.
“I wanted to support all of the women photographers, so I encouraged them to display their products,” said Porter to ENN.
Sponsored by Arlington Camera and open to the public, the photo expo is held each Fall at the Arlington Convention Center.
