The student section in football games is belived to be one of the most important aspects of football. Student sections are a group of the school’s students showing their love and support to their team. The atmosphere of the student section brings energy to the whole game, and helps encourage the football team on the field.
Kayden Mansell, 11th grader, enjoys the energy and atmosphere of the student section at Lake Ridge, which enhances the athletic experience. He describes the section as fun and wild, with high attendance for big rivalry games. Mansell appreciates the spirit days, particularly blackout and camo, as they are easy to participate in and foster a sense of community. Despite the excitement, he notes that attendance can be low for less significant games, making cheering challenging. Mansell values the opportunity to dress up and contribute to the school spirit, aiming to inspire others and showcase Eagle pride.
“I love the energy it brings the team and everyone that’s in the stands. It gives off the atmosphere of Lake Ridge High School. It’s fun. It’s wild, when the team scores, everyone’s cheering. We have super nice chants here and there. And you know, it just brings a lot of hype to the teams,” said Mansell.

It’s also fun because we get to scream and yell together and overall it’s just a fun environment . Students dress up to whatever theme the week is and what we are told.
