Recap: LEMONADE

The highlight of most people’s weekend was watching Beyonce’s visual album titled, LEMONADE. The Formation singer announced the release of her secret project on April 19th and her fans immediately when to social media to rave about the news. When LEMONADE finally premiered on April 23, the lyrics from her album highlighted emotions she felt such as intuition, denial, anger, apathy, emptiness, reformation, forgiveness, resurrection, hope, and redemption.

Beyonce’s songs shed light on important events in her marriage, social justice, and many other personal events in her life. Her hour-long album also featured many other artist such as The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar, Serena Williams, Zendaya, and Amanda Stenberg on the tracks as well as in the videos.

Beyonce also had the mothers of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown hold up a picture of their deceased sons, which  promoted the Black Lives Matter movement spreading throughout America today. The Grammy-award winning singer soon uploaded her album onto Tidal, a music app owned by her husband Jay-Z, her track list included 12 songs, one for every emotion.
