Athletes and coaches pose together during Signing Ceremony

The first Wednesday in February is a day that many athletes have emblazoned in their minds.  It is a day athletes dream of but few ever see come true.  NCAA National Signing Day for seniors participating in collegiate sports was Wednesday Feb. 3.  Lake Ridge High School had 10 student athletes sign their names on the dotted line and commit to play sports at colleges throughout the country.   The group included two Lady Eagle soccer players and eight football players.

Lady Eagle soccer players Eryn Harrington committed to play at Angelo State University and Cayla Payne committed to play soccer at University Texas El Paso.

Lake Ridge Eagle Varsity football players wrapped up their historic season by participating in Signing Day as well. Quarterback Jett Duffey signed to Texas Tech (currently attending) and Running Back Duke Carter signed to University of Louisiana-Monroe. Other notable Varsity football signees included:  Arnold Azunna signed to Iowa State University, Jack Lechman signed to Southeastern Louisiana University, Kalon Nichols signed to Tyler Junior College, and Joshua Jordan, Bryce Bailey, and Doryan Harris all signed with Southern Nazarene University.

All of us here at ENN wish all student athletes the best of luck in the future. Congratulate them in the comments below.
