Eagles and Indians shake hands after game

The Eagles Varsity Football Team secured a playoff birth on Friday, Nov. 4, by defeating the Waxahachie Indians by a score of 63-49 in Waxahachie, TX.

The Eagles were lead by quarterback, Chandler Rogers, sophomore, who rushed for 162 yards with 7 touchdowns. Rogers helped the Eagles rally back from a halftime deficit of 28-20.

The Eagles special teams and defense also put on a show for the crowd by forcing punts, stripping fumbles, and scoring on punt returns.  The defense also gave the Eagles offense the advantage by providing short field yardages to work with.

The Eagles offense shined with 30 first downs and 595 total yards with 462 yards rushing averaging 6.8 yards per rush.

Darrius Lee, sophomore, led the rushing game with 195 yards on the ground and 1 touchdown.

The Eagles begin their playoff run on Friday, Nov. 11, against the Crowley Eagles at The Gopher Bowl in Grand Prairie, TX. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
