Colorguard Holds Tryouts
Do you have what it takes to entertain the crowd at football games?
The Eagle Colorguard will hold tryouts for the 2016-17 season, May 9-12 from 4:30p.m.-6:30p.m. in the band hall. The tryouts, originally set for May 2-6, were changed due to AP testing at Lake Ridge and EOC testing at Danny Jones Middle School.
“Any student interested in becoming a member of our colorguard for next fall’s marching season should make plans to attend each training session and audition,” explained Band Director, Bradley Bonebrake.
Colorguard gives students the opportunity to perform during the halftime of football games and compete in district competitions.
“I love the adrenaline I get when I perform in front of people. It makes me feel like everything I have worked for is worth it,” said Kaitlin Gilchrist, junior. “My advice to them (students auditioning) would be don’t let yourself get into your head and don’t tell yourself you can’t do it, because nothing is impossible.”
For more information on Eagles Colorguard or tryouts, please contact Mr. Bonebrake in the Band Hall.
Good luck to all of the students auditioning for Colorguard!
