The Lake Ridge High School baseball preseason is about to begin and tryouts are being held Jan 28-30.

Scrimmage games start February 9 when the Eagles play at Keller Central. Regular season play begins against Rowlett in the North Texas Classic on Feb 25, and district play starts March 7 at home against Ennis.

The Eagles varsity baseball team is trying to build on an impressive 2015 season as they lost to Seagoville in the first round of the UIL Texas High School Baseball playoffs

Although many of players from last year’s championship team have, graduated this year’s significantly younger team still expects to play really well. The returning team still has many  young talented players such as R.J. Roberts, Aaron Page, Austin Roth, and Brandon Uhse.

“I think this is a rebuilding year because 16 seniors left and that’s almost two whole teams , but a few seniors are coming up who we expect to play well. We still expect to win,” said sophomore catcher Justin Kahl.
