Boys B-Ball: Eagles Defeat Ennis

The Lake Ridge boys basketball team moved to 9-2 in 5A district II action with a 55-25 road win over the reeling Ennis Hawks on Jan. 19.

In eight tries, the Eagles have lost only once on the road. In 18 tries, the Hawks have won only once this season. But victory against any opponent is sweet, according to Lake Ridge players.

“It was just a good team win,” said senior Tyrone Hugue, who set a personal scoring best during the game.

“I’m just happy to be a part of the team,” said Kobe Honeycutt.

With the win, Lake Ridge ups its record to 11-6 on the season.

Fans say they enjoy following the Eagles this season as they remain in the hunt for the district playoffs.

“They are a fun team to watch,” said Lake Ridge freshman Jaylen Miller.
