Eagles Varsity baseball takes the field

Lake Ridge baseball is back to the diamond and they are looking good. The boys played well this weekend at the North Texas Classic.

Head Baseball Coach, Greg Ross said, “I think we will be fine. We got guys who have stepped up as leaders. I was impressed with our district pitchers, and we had good hitting throughout the tournament.”

The players are really flowing as a team, and just having fun. “They have gelled as a team, and they’ve come together and fought through the adversity of tournament games,” explained Ross.

The team has a new look this year with many faces of the program graduating.  The team look to build on the base of this program and build on a season where they lost in the first round.

This team is young and seniors, like shortstop and pitcher Aaron Page who played JV last year, got a lot of playing time. Austin Roth, 11,  played varsity last season as a pitcher and catcher. Brandon Uhse is a young shortstop, outfielder, and pitcher. All three are pitchers in our district rotation.

Lake Ridge Baseball returns to the field Thursday March 3, 2016 in the Warrior Classic at South Grand Prairie. The boys start district play Tuesday March 7, 2016 at home against Ennis.
