Football Returns to Gridiron

Eagles Football preps for new season

The Lake Ridge Football team is back in action! Lake Ridge football starts spring ball May 3, 2016. After the success of last season this team is looking to build for next season. The team seems poised to be a contender once again.

With spring ball around the corner, Coach Thor said, “Spring ball will be very important because we will have so many young players that haven’t played on Friday night. We need to be sure all players are in the right position and that they get the fundamentals needed to be successful.”

That’s the big question for this team. The Eagles are losing almost 50 seniors to graduation and are returning a limited number of starters. The Eagles will loil to veteran players like Tate Heitmeier, Loren Mondy, and Cooper Thor for leadership next fall.

Spring ball is key in building the base of next season’s team. Coach Thor explained that spring football is used to “build team chemistry, place each player in the best position, and to find a two-deep Varsity roster for next fall.”

Every year the team dynamic is different, so spring ball builds the culture and identity of each team.
