Eagles defense lines up against the Scots

The Lake Ridge Eagles Varsity Football Team ended their playoff run on Friday, Nov. 25, with a 41-27 loss to the Highland Park Scots at The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, TX.

The Eagles offense struggled to find their footing in the first half; heading into halftime down 21-0. The offense made adjustments and returned from halftime to score 27 points in the second half.  The Eagles offense had 462 total yards, with 303 yards passing and 159 yards rushing and two lost fumbles.

Quarterback Jason Bean, junior, had 277 total yards with 3 touchdown passes and 1 rushing touchdown.  Zach Jackson, senior, had 103 yards receiving and 1 touchdown reception.  Both Tory Mitchell, junior, and TJ Graham, junior, had 1 touchdown reception.

The Eagles defense held the Scots to only 88 yards passing but struggled against the run; allowing 228 yards rushing. The defense forced one interception.

The Eagles also suffered from a series of 5 penalties for 50 yards.

The loss in the third round of the Division 5A playoffs ends the season at 8-5 for the Eagles.
