Washington, D.C.- January 20, 2017 at high noon marked the transition of power to the 45th President of the United States.

Donald J. Trump took the Oath of Office in front of former presidents, cabinet members, family, and between an estimated 800,000-1 million onlookers.  The oath was administered by Supreme Court Justice John Roberts and Trump used two Bibles to take the oath.  First Lady Melania Trump held the Lincoln Bible and Trump’s personal Bible given to him by his mother when he was 9 years old during the ceremony.

During his Inaugural speech Trump spoke to ALL Americans.  In reverence to former President Ronald Reagan, Trump proclaimed that the country no longer belongs to the government and that he is giving the country back to its people.

“To all Americans: You will never be ignored again. Your voice, your hopes and your dreams will define our American destiny. Your courage and goodness and love will forever guide us along the way. Together we will make America strong again. We will make America wealthy again. We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again – and yes, together, WE WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump stated.

The inauguration was watched by 30.6 million viewers around the world and was streamed live by 12 networks.

The inauguration marked the beginning of the four-year term of Donald Trump as President and Michael Pence as Vice President.
