Top 5: American Music Awards Moments
Hosted by Jennifer Lopez, the 56th Annual American Music Awards were held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles Nov. 22. The night was filled with dramatic dance routines, iconic musical tributes that continued to wow us throughout the night.
Top 5 Moments:
1. With many people affected by the recent events in Paris, Celine Dion sang a timeless French classic, “Hymne a L’Amou,” that honored the victims and brought some to tears, resurfacing feelings about the latest ISIS attack.
2. Justin Bieber wowed the crowd of thousands with a finale that consisted of a melody of three chart toppers off his new album, “Purpose.” It seems, the pop star has finally made a comeback.
3. The Weeknd has done it again! This year has been the breakout year for this man, and he continues to wow us. He incorporated fire that mixed well with his amazing voice in a rendition of “The Hills.”
4. Ariana Grande performed her new and very anticipated song, “Focus,” at the AMA’s. Done beautifully, she kept us entertained with her jazzy dance number to compliment her amazing voice.
5. How can I not talk about the world’s biggest boy band’s performance? In a year filled with drama after Zayn Malik left the band, One Direction, performed “Perfect,” one of the latest songs from their new album, “Made In The A.M.” Although the performance was simple and didn’t contain any flashy gimmicks, the crowd was content throughout the whole performance.
