Bi-District Champions
Grand Prairie, Texas – The Lake Ridge Eagles are Bi-District Champions with a record of 11-0. The Eagles dominated the Dallas Samuell Spartans 63-12. The Eagles took a 21-0 lead just four minutes into the first quarter.
The Eagles offense was dominant with 602 total yards of offense, and had 9 touchdowns, 8 of them rushing. Duke Carter had 4 rushing touchdowns for 171 yards, and backup running back Joseph Rowe had 3 touchdowns and 135 yards. Jett Duffey accounted for 222 total yards and 2 total touchdowns, Jett had 173 yards passing and 1 passing touchdown, and he added 49 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown.
The Lake Ridge defense stymied the Samuell offense holding them to 12 points, and 194 yards. Samuell never found a rhythm offensively, and struggled against the powerful Eagle defense.
The John Tyler Lions will be the Eagles second round opponent, and they are 8-3 on the season. The Eagles are playing the Lions in Forney Saturday at 2 p.m.
