A happy group of 2015 Eagle Marching Band members strike a pose.

This band season, tons of events and awards brought students at Lake Ridge High School school great joy and excitement with their most recent event, the 2015 University Interscholastic League Area B Marching Contest.

Competing against 25 others schools from the area and closing out a successful season on a high note, the Eagles Band finished in a respectable seventh place.

According to some, it’s not easy to be completely successful as a member of the marching band with all the practice, discipline and motivation that’s involved. The band, as a whole, has worked together on their teamwork, flexibility, and time management in practicing and have aimed high throughout the season, according to band members like McKenzie Medeiros of the color guard.

“For the UIL contest, there were a lot of ups and downs concerning our emotions because we felt like we worked really hard, and we wanted to finish somewhere in the finals but later we realized our work did go somewhere we have gotten better with our skills,” said the Lake Ridge junior. “We are going to take pride in how far we have come and faith in how far we will go.”
