North Dakota Access Pipeline: What To Know

There’s no doubt that oil is a resource that people around the world bend over backwards to obtain. Recently Dakota Access, LLC, a company of Energy Transfer, has proposed a plan to create a new oil pipeline directly through North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Illinois. This new pipeline will safely transport more than 460,000 barrels of crude oil a day to Illinois from Bakken/Three Forks, North Dakota.

Although because of it’s massive size, the project will go through many local communities. Many Native American tribes located in North Dakota fear that the pipeline will leak and contaminate their drinking water.

“Energy Transfer has long standing commitments to the safety of people, the environment, and our property and assets. DAPL and Energy Transfer Partners are 100% liable for any damage resultant from the pipeline,” said Energy Transfer according to DAPLPipelineFacts.com.

But many people are wondering, how will the pipeline benefit us? Dakota Access Pipeline promises the pipeline will increase America’s energy independence. The pipeline will transport 100% of crude oil primarily for American consumers. Furthermore, the pipeline will better the public safety of others and environmental factors for our communities.
